Fire Damage 16th January 2008

Due to a fire last night I have lost my two race bikes KTM SX50 motocross bikes, gear, spares and tools. The fire started at around 10.00 pm last night dad heard a loud bang and looked out of the window to see the motorhome on fire in the barn. By the time he got out there the motorhome back end had gone with both bikes, spares and tools. My gear was on the back bed and I lost almost all my race gear. I only used one set at the weekend which was in the wash but my other four sets have gone. I have no boots as both sets were in the van nor protective clothing left.

Unfortunatley due to the wet weather mum and dad bought my pet sheep into the barn at the back and the four of them died from the smoke. RIP Bumble Bee, Cody, Milly & Billy I love you.

Dad tried to save my sheep and his works van which he uses for the lorries but mum screamed for him to leave it. The firemen say that dad would have died within another minute if he had carried on trying to save the sheep and the van.

After that the fire spread to the works van and started on the tractor before the fireman could put out the fire.

I have had a great response due to John Kind & Chris Mills who have rallied our friends who have offered to lend me a bike and gear for the supercross. I thank everyone for the help and you certainly know who your friends are, thank you.

Dad has spent all day with the fire investigating officer and the police CID he is knackered and will get on with sorting out a bike for the British Supercross tomorrow. RDH have offered to lend us a motorhome for the supercross.

Dad has lots of insurance but forgot to get seperate insurance for my bikes and gear. He says that he is sorry and that everyone should make sure they have insurance on their race bikes and gear.

Below are pictures of the damage;
